Parkside Dental Practice is a Peachtree City based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. Stephen L. Matlaga, D.D.S.
Dr. Stephen L. Matlaga is a well-qualified dentist who graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Bacteriology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Emory University and remained affiliated with the dental school as a clinical instructor in the Department of Oral Medicine, while maintaining a private practice of his own in Decatur and the Northlake area of Atlanta. In 1986, he joined Parkside Dental with countless hours of continuing education in all major disciplines of dentistry, including esthetics, implants, and sedation.
Dr. Matlaga is married to the former Vickie Whitlock of Fayette County. He enjoys golfing, and they enjoy ballroom dancing in their spare time. Dr. Matlaga has three sons, one currently serving in the Marine Corps.
Theresa A. Simmons, D.D.S.
Dr. Theresa Simmons shares a common goal with you – to ensure you have great oral health provided through exceptional dental care. Dr. Simmons graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and received the American Association of Women Dentists Award for outstanding leadership and academic excellence. She also completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Prior to joining Parkside Dental, Dr. Simmons practiced in Knoxville, TN.
When Dr. Simmons isn’t investing her time in the office and continuing dental education, she loves spending time with her husband, Rob, and their two children. Her hobbies include artistic projects, reading, and music
Dr. Caroline Greenwood
Dr. Greenwood is thrilled to join our practice and serve the Peachtree City community by promoting oral health through compassionate, patient-centered care. A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Dr. Greenwood earned her B.A. in Biology with a Minor in Studio Art from the University of Virginia. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry, followed by a two-year general practice residency back at her alma mater, the University of Virginia.
Before moving to Georgia, Dr. Greenwood practiced in Washington, D.C., where she honed her ability to combine clinical expertise with an artistic eye, helping patients feel healthy, confident, and proud of their smiles.
Outside the office, she enjoys playing tennis, painting, and spending time with her orange tabby cat, Mozzarella.
Carolyn Miller
Office Manager
One of the first people to greet you when you enter or call Parkside Dental, Carolyn is a graduate of Riverdale High. She oversees the dentist and hygiene schedules to make sure patients receive the treatment they need. She attends yearly meetings through Hinman Dental to stay up-to-date on the latest in the dental industry, from insurance updates to teeth whitening. Carolyn is CPR certified and is a certified dental assistant as well. She is married to Jeff and has one son. In addition to spending time with her family, Carolyn enjoys going to the gym and playing softball.

DeAnne Stephens
Hygienist
DeAnne graduated from the Medical College of Georgia. In addition to being a registered dental hygienist and contributing to family dentistry, she has an Advanced CPR certification and surpasses her yearly requirements for continuing education. One of her goals is the prevention of gum disease by facilitating your preventative cleaning and providing you with the skills and knowledge you need to do your part in its prevention. DeAnne is involved with her church activities and enjoys working out and spending time with her son. She has worked at Parkside Dental for over 20 years.
Rebecca Jenkins
Hygienist
Rebecca Jenkins graduated from the Central Georgia Technical College in 2015. She has a CPR certification to her credit, and has undergone dental care training in radiology, SRP, and other preventative procedures like sealants, etc. Rebecca has also taken up courses such as teeth bleaching, dental photography, and occupational respiratory infectious diseases. She is all set to marry her fiancé of four years in April 2017. Rebecca’s hobbies and interests include hiking, kayaking, camping, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, she loves teeth!

Donna Hammett
Dental Assistant
Donna is a long-time dental assistant for Parkside Dental and a Newnan HS graduate who takes pride in giving exceptional dental care. She has received certification in Dentrix Digital X-Rays and Advanced CPR. Donna attends an annual Hinman Dental Meeting where she takes a variety of continuing education courses to ensure her patients have the best possible experience when they are in her care. She and her husband, Tim, have two daughters. Donna enjoys scrapbooking, crocheting, stamping, and crafting in general. She has worked at Parkside Dental for almost 30 years.
Phyllis McWilliams
Dental Assistant
A long-time dental assistant, Phyllis is a graduate of East Coweta High School. She has completed training in Schick Digital Radiography, Steri-Safe Annual OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogens, and OSHA. Phyllis earned a Radiology Certification for Dental Assistants and is CPR certified. Among the many continuing education courses she has completed are Quality Dental Radiography and Emergency Medical Response Procedures in the dental office. She is married to her husband Jeff, and they have one son. For fun, Phyllis likes going to movies, hiking, spending time with her friends and family, and is very active in her church.
