During your initial exam and consultation, you’ll meet your dentist and hygienist, who will guide you through your care. Your initial dental exam will take around one hour. Your comprehensive assessment may include a visual exam, soft tissue evaluation, oral cancer screening, and a jaw assessment. In most cases, your visit will also include a professional cleaning, where plaque and tartar are removed and your teeth are polished, leaving your smile feeling fresh. Your hygienist will also provide helpful tips and guidance to improve your at-home oral care routine and maintain your oral health between visits. You’ll receive a printed copy of your personalized treatment plan, so you can review it at your convenience.
